Independence Monument

In 1992 the Lenin statue came down and a globe was set on the same pedestal. Uzbekistan’s outline is drawn larger than the other countries. In front of it, since 2006, stands the Happy Mother by Ilkhom and Kamol Jabbarov: a woman about six metres tall and a child about three and a half. The woman stands for the homeland, the child for what comes next. Opening hours and prices are left blank until someone checks them on site.
